Lack of collaborative working affects community connections

Source of power:

State

Space of power:

TOWN'S IMAGE, REPUTATION AND IDENTITY

Description:

Participants felt Swindon is made up of different communities and drew a distinction between the native residents who live in particular areas and individuals who have relocated to Swindon's newly developed areas and housing estates for work. It was felt that a lack of a "focal point" and collaborative working means there is less connection between communities than there could be.

Quotes from participants:

"There’s no focal point and we’re not working together. We’ve got lots of sporadic things happening in Swindon, lots of different communities that aren’t connected"
