Reputational damage encourages bad behaviour

Source of power:

Cultural

Space of power:

TOWN'S IMAGE, REPUTATION AND IDENTITY

Description:

Participants perceived that reputational damage to the town tends to come from outside Swindon. It was felt that because areas such as Manchester Road are not well respected people feel it is acceptable to frequent them to “misbehave".

Quotes from participants:

"It’s having a bad reputation, and I think what that’s doing is... instead of people coming in... for a good night out, it’s more, like, bad behaviours"
